Number Plates manufacture now easier.

July 5th, 2008

The manufacture of car number plates has undergone many changes over the years. Early plates were pressed out of a sheet of metal. then plastic digits were rivetted onto a metal plate. The advent of acrylic plates made for a highly reflective number plate but they were still time consuming to make. The latest innovation has been the use of a printer connected to a computer so the operator can just type in the registration number and the printer prints the black digits onto the reflective background then all that remains is for the acrylic to be stuck over it.
